BIPB is an event organized by the Union of Plastic Artists of Romania, in partnership with the National Museum of Romanian Literature, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Galateca Gallery and the National University of Arts in Bucharest.
BIPB reaffirms, through organized events, the importance and major interest of artists worldwide for the reinvention of the engraved image and for the expression through the traditional techniques of engraving, in the context of contemporary art.
Bucharest International Print Biennale – BIPB 2019 / Crossing borders is the only project that brings, for the third time, important names of the community of national and international engraving artists. This year’s edition enjoyed over 300 applications from which the organizers chose the works of 125 artists from all meridians.
The central exhibition will open on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 6.30 pm, at the headquarters of the National Museum of Romanian Literature / MNLR in Calea Griviţei no. 64-66, in the presence of the members of the jury and of the participating artists. On this occasion will be announced the BIPB awards, funded by the Romanian Cultural Institute.
The opening word will belong to Mr. Ioan Cristescu, the director of the MNLR.
On the same occasion two related exhibition projects will be launched:
In Memoriam Ioan-Atanasiu Delamare – Iuri Isar, a return to the cultural memory of two important personalities of Romanian art.

Engraving lesson – an event featuring artists invited from the country and abroad, participants in past editions or winners in the BIPB.
